Four blowdrys only add value if you use them

Salon Concrete, whose Bell Works salon is in Holmdel, advertises a $99 monthly membership with four blowdrys on its official homepage. This is a published offer, not confirmation of availability or all membership terms.

Our read

Using all four works out to $24.75 per visit before any additional charges. Before joining, confirm the participating location, appointment availability, extras, cancellation rules, and whether unused visits expire. Compare the monthly commitment with the visits you will realistically book, not an ideal calendar.

Revenue growth is not the same as a busier salon

PBA's August Pro Beauty Pulse, published September 11, compares August sentiment with July performance. Its KIM Report figures show July salon revenue up 1.90% year over year and average service tickets up 3.05%, while clients and visits were essentially flat. These are industry figures, not New Jersey-specific results.

Our read

For your own month-end check, separate revenue, completed visits, average ticket, and rebooking. A higher total can hide an unchanged appointment book. Compare like-for-like periods and working days before changing prices or adding discounts; this national report is context, not a diagnosis of your salon.

Choose the shape before shopping for a brush

A September 4 PBA education article explains how brush diameter, sectioning, airflow, and technique work together. Larger barrels support broader movement; smaller ones allow tighter turns. The author leads Bass Brushes, so this is manufacturer-authored education, not an independent product comparison.

Our read

At your next NJ salon visit, ask your stylist to demonstrate one section using the brush size suited to your length and desired finish. Photograph the tool dimensions, not just the brand. A bigger barrel does not automatically mean more root volume, and buying the same tool is not a substitute for learning the technique.
